Center for Diversity & Multiculturalism
The Center for Diversity & Multiculturalism was established in order to explore and create options for members of different communities to enter into a productive dialogue and share the knowledge gained from this discourse with the international community. The center develops and runs diverse projects, including multicultural mediation and various leadership programs, and offers international study programs which focus on multiculturalism, pluralism and dispute resolution.
Professor Alean Al-Krenawi, the president of Achva Academic College, has appointed Dr. Sapir Handelman to be the director of the Center. Dr. Handelman is the co-laureate of the 2010 Peter Becker Award for Peace and Conflict Studies. He received the Lentz fellowship three times in a row and was an associate at the psychology department of Harvard University. Dr. Handelman is a scholar practitioner who combines theoretical studies with practice.
